Music, Dance, Art, Language, Culture
The Brazilian—American Cultural Center* opened in June 2019 as the headquarters of Capoeira Barro Vermelho USA, at 3001 Sherman Avenue, NW, with the mission to be the home of Brazilian art and culture in the District of Columbia. We invite you to experience Brazil with all of your senses: we provide the community with a venue to celebrate the ties that bind the US and Brazil through the discovery of various arts and cultures of Brazil. At BACC, you will be able to immerse yourself in the world of capoeira, the various forms of Brazilian dance, and learn Portuguese, the language of Brazil. We will also screen Brazilian films, have culinary classes, art exhibits featuring local and international artists, and provide workshops to train professionals in the arts of Brazil. We welcome community input as we develop the schedule for our inaugural year. Please email bombabahia@gmail.com for more information or suggestions.
